You are one sick dude, sickdude! ()

Seriously though, I am glad someone liked it. I really am. If the show gets a lot of people liking it, as I stated above, then that's a score for the genre, if nothing else. And a score for the genre, means we are that much closer, hopefully, to getting Joss back in tv again, since horror-drama-scifi are his specialties!!!

The only new shows I've seen so far are Chuck, Bionic Woman and Moonlight (and Mad Men, if you count that one). I like both Chuck (more on second viewing than first) and Bionic Woman (so far) but I'm trying to reserve my absolute final judgement on Moonlight until after I've seen at least 5 eps. I'm hoping it will improve. Hoping they're not really gonna be sprinkling cult show actors and references throughout as an effort to keep us doubters from noticing it's still bad--my impression of the pilot.

If you haven't checked out Mad Men on AMC yet, you should definitely try it. I never thought I would really enjoy a show like this, but I really love it. Still a bit disturbed about the way women acted and were treated back then but then I guess it's not that far a cry from today's behaviors in some cases.

"They talk about me in the chatty rooms?"--Angel

"I'm 1120 years old. Just give me a frigging beer!"--Anya

"All I had to do is want it bad enough...and guess what I want to do now, you prissy son of a bitch?"--Spike

For Joss!

Matt Roush's review:

The least one should hope for from a new vampire drama is a little bite of originality. Alas, MOONLIGHT is a soggy, anemic bundle of film-noir private-eye cliche's wrapped in an underdeveloped context about a secret and disappointingly bland underworld of the undead living in the shadows of Los Angeles.

Destined to be compared unfavorably with the cult classic ANGEL, this show strands a charismatic lead (Alex O'Loughlin as Mick St. John, turned immortal a mere 60 years ago) amid a wooden supporting cast as it spins out familiar tales of angst, crime and thwarted desires.

If there's a twist, it's that the demons are human villains who deserve the supernatural whipping Mick gives them. In the good news/bad news department, Episode 2 improves on the awful pilot, but that episode's writer (ANGEL's David Greenwalt) has since left the show.

Well, at least David wrote the second episode. It'll encourage me more to watch on Friday.

It's kind of sad to me actually. A brief reunion with an old "friend" doing what he does best (write for/run a vamp detective show), then he leaves us again. Sure hope he's okay.

I tried. I'm sorry, but I tried.

Rarely would I ask the TV gods to cancel something, but here I just might make an exception. Are they really wasting money on this? They could put another reality show on in its place, and the world would be better off.

*takes a few dozen deep breaths*

I really want to have hope here, but they've made it nearly impossible. Don't know if I'll be back at all next week.

I know how you feel, but I do NOT hope they cancel it. It's about mainstream success for the genre. The kind of people who wouldn't give a show called Buffy the Vampire Slayer the time of day. We need Joss back on TV, and that might help further OUR cause!

Gotta admit I like it. I don't really see the connections like you guys seem to, other than the whole vampire thing. There's no board, no 'ghouls and goblins', at least not yet. There's just a guy who got suckered, literally, and is trying to make the best of it.
As to Forever Knight, it was a terrific show, just too far ahead of it's time. Had a good back story, which tended to play too much of a part IMO, but the story was good, and the actors were top notch.
I'll take closer look, now, though, and see if I see what you do. But c'mon guys! A convertable and a trenchcoat? Takes more than that to be a ripoff, surely.
