I don't know that a mail campaign would do much at this point. I think what they would notice most is this:
First - Money. Duh. They've already noticed. If you haven't bought the movie, BUY IT. And then get all your friends to buy it. Start buying Christmas presents now. Whatever you have to do.
Second - Web Traffic. Digg, del.icio.us, the official movie site, etc. If you have a blog, blog it.
There are ways to make noise without spending money on postage.
