I recently looked at these again, and I'm just not feeling any of them. As much as I love the series, and I have no intention of NOT buying these no matter what, these covers are just horrible. Why Joss is apparently all right with them is beyond me. I haven't had a "what the hell is he thinking?" moment in years, and I'm having one again.

Which one? Or both? I didn't think either one looked like either Angel or Spike. The only one that sort of did was the one with the thongs!

I completely agree--I haven't really liked any of the four so far, and I'm having a hell of a time deciding whether to get the regular covers, or the variants (I wanna stick with either one version or the other all the way thru). I HATED the regular cover on #1 and thought, "Okay, I guess I'll get the variants, then." Then the ones for #2 came out, and the variant was as bad as the #1 regular one
.And there are actually people bashing Jo Chen's work on "Buffy". Unbelievable...

ok, I've only seen 3, 1 for #1 and the 2 of #2.
I don't really like the one of angel with his hands like he's praying for #1 it's pretty boring and not a very good likeness...
spike with the fire and demons I do quite like, I've made an avatar out of it for the other site, but it could do with a bit more oomph for a cover.
and the one with the women flashing their arsecracks... that doesn't really do anything for me. maybe it's intrinsic to the plot though
