does anyone know why the formatting in the BSR jumps lines and generally doesn't match a word source?
i tried moving things around by editing in the BSR itself - no joy.
The script i have at home is standard format e.g name of speaker is centred and the dialog is underneath on the next direct line - not jumping a line... the BSR adds a blank line!
there is a larger gap between dialog and the following italics for direction but the BSR scrunches blank lines!
is it my savage lack of technical no-how???:)
curious

The FFF web page doesn't see any of the formatting you put in your version, it takes in the text and formats it automatically so all fics look alike. The's the single empty line between paragraphs, indenting, not centering... I'm not sure what you mean by "word source" though.
Search through the BSR for the Handy Fic Formatting thread - it explains how you can use html tags to do things like center and control paragraph breaks.
