Thanks for the link. Now I wants more.

So, I take it the dragon is the way they survive that alley. Angel convinces it to switch sides and blammo toasted demons.
Who is the girl Angel talks about? Buffy? "they" sorta killed her but she's still alives. Cordilia? If a "they" killed Cordi then it must be demons in general. Maybe Fred? Again it's more like demon's in general killed her. I don't think wolfram and hart even wanted Ilyria around. Could it be the werewolf girl? I forget her name, but Angel was getting sorta sweet on her. I don't think he'd like it too much if wolfram and hart killed her in the fight.
Well I know I'll be buying those comics.

I'm thinking it's Fred. No-one else makes sense. And werewolf girl (damn, I can't remember her name either! Ooh, just looked it up. Was Nina. Now I feel stupid... where was I?) isn't dead, just out of the country.

I guess this is as novice a question as can be asked, but how seriously are we to take these comics, w/ regards to story line and the like ? I mean, sure, if Joss et al are the ones writing it, that's great. But even when doing eps on t.v., they'd go through a number of rewrites and plot twist, so that their first ideas might not always end up on screen. I guess my question is, how close to 'tenent' are we to accept these stories ?
Take'm or leave'm? .....or to question Joss is to question God?
People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy. - Joss
" They don't like it when you shoot at 'em. I worked that out myself. "

Just like Buffy S8, these are considered canon. Joss isn't writing them, but he's working closely with... Brian Lynch(?)... on the storylines. Supposedly some of the ideas he'd originally planned for S6 of the TV show are working their way into the comics. I remember reading that he'd intended the first few episodes of S6 to be set in an alternate dimension, and that appears to be what's happening here--the entire city has apparently been sent to a hell dimension.

And I'm sure the comics go thru several re-writes just like the episodes did. Brian K. Vaughan said that was certainly the case with the four-part Faith arc he wrote--he'd do a draft, send it to Joss, who'd send it back with a whole bunch of notes; another draft, more notes, etc., until they finally arrived at the finished product.

Yeah, 'After the Fall' is definitely canon and Joss Whedon's name is going to figure Large on the cover:

I guess the 'rewrite' process is that Joss laid out the story arc for Brian Lynch, who brought up his ideas, which were approved...
then when Brian wrote stuff he forwarded it to Joss to read and comment on...
then of course the IDW editor had imput, and the artist Franco Urru would have his POV....
the cool thing is: if they had gotten a sixth season of Angel they could never have afforded all the HUGE special effects Joss envisioned (which Franco could draw w/no trouble)
I think that this is going to be big fun!

Just no more "losses" please. The five in Season 5 were quite enough!!!!

"They talk about me in the chatty rooms?"--Angel
"I'm 1120 years old. Just give me a frigging beer!"--Anya
"All I had to do is want it bad enough...and guess what I want to do now, you prissy son of a bitch?"--Spike

well, gotta say - i had zero interest in seeing angel return - not after such a fantastic bloody kiss off -
but having sneaked a peak and despite the lara crofty art work (typical) i'm actually quite intrigued...
don't quite hear angel's voice in the it - but maybe that's the devil of exposition.
(and i love Buffy8 for those as don't know already)
