50 x 1000 = Way to go Browncoats. I started voting over a year ago when getting 5-600 votes was considered good and 1000 was just a pipe dream.

The 5th anniversary of the first airing of Firefly is tomorrow (its 00:30 on the 19th at the moment in my time zone).

Gotta give it a BIG VOTE on the 20th, aiming for at least 2,000. Here's a challenge: Can anybody achieve the magic 24 votes in 24 hours ??

I can't figure out the Xenites.

Our pattern of voting is easy to understand: we go up during the week, down on the weekend, with Sunday always being significantly lower than every other day. Looking at FlatTop's daily graph, that pattern is very easy to see.

Since we caught them, the Xenites numbers have had three spikes, and they don't seem to be following any particular pattern of which day they happen on. So I'm completely at a loss to guess when or if there'll be another.

The reason I'm interested is that if there isn't another spike, their numbers have now dropped back close to their historical levels of 600ish. If that's the case, we can breathe a little easier about whether we need to look in our rearview quite so carefully...

Still, I'm not gonna breathe easy until we beat their old record for 1k+ votes/day, and then some. That's the real, current challenge. I know we can do it, so long as we stay sharp these next, few weekends.

Also, we have our voting initiative Thursday. Not so sure we can pull off new record numbers, on such relatively short notice, but, I know I've put this in front of every Browncoat voter I can. As for 24 votes in 24 hours, well, I've been thinkin' about how to pull that one off... Tough, especially on a weekday, for some folks.

One way to do it is to vote and nap alternately for some part of the day... I know I'll be up early, Thursday. I figure I can start around 6am, end around 2 am the next morning, get at least 20 votes in, but, then, I usually manage about 17-18. I'm not as young as I'd like to think I am, so, pulling a 24 hour stint isn't so easy as it was, back in my misspent youth.

Do your best, Browncoats! We can at least make a big dent in our closing rate on 500k; just don't lose track of the 1k/day record, which gets closer by the day.

Well now.
We are considerably beyond the "magic number" range of 7,000-ish votes (the total number of votes more than Firefly that Xena managed to accumulate on every day they out-voted us in the last year or so).
While I won't say we are "safe" (noone ever is, and I imagine Xena once thought they were), I will say that we've got enough of a lead, and consistent enough voting/monitoring, to see anyone making a run at us from at least a month or so away. Should be time enough to rally & extend.

Vump that!
Vote now! Let's continue to extend our lead so fast that noone else even imagines catching us to even be possible!

Someone who's also a Xena fan (there are quite a few), who hangs out on the Xena listservs, mentioned last month that there's just no enthusiasm over there for another voting campaign. Still, I would not want to aggravate the Xena fans. There appear to be more of them than us, and we've seen the numbers they can pile up if they get a mind to.

Lucy Lawless showed up as a clever assassin on a recent Burn Notice episode, and is returning to BSG, and all that is keeping the Xena crowd occupied.
