A while ago there was an ultra cool Serenity RPG that unfortunately died right here on this site. I don't know if any of hte old gang is interested but i miss it and would like to attempt to rehash it. New players are of course welcome. Much like the title suggests, the game is set on Serenity and we had just done the BDM when the fun died. Unfortunately playing the BDM killed it so if we want to go back pre-BDM or whatever that's cool. I'll try to fish some old threads out of the archives and post them. Reply if your interested

I'm coming back, but I'll be bringing in a new flavor, just to let you know. And if we want LOS back, we need to work for it. That means...*shudder* rules, if loose ones. Playing it like we used to is good, but there is a limit. The android 13 will most definitely NOT return as a character, although he was interesting to play.

Anyways...anyone up for it besides me and Johnny?

I'd be interested in reprising my role as a heavily armed, over-sexed mercenary. It just depends if the others come back or some new people join up. Plus there's that whole time thing, what with me having so many characters over at the BDV ( www.bigdamnverse.net).

As far as rules go I think there should be a posting requirement but a very loose one, on that note if one will be unable to meet that requirement for a period of time, they should inform the other players. AS far as another oftenly used rule character approval, I'd rather not implement this rule, but we should have basic guidlines for characters and situations. One of these might be Nothing Universe changing for instance you can't abolish the Alliance or Parliament.

Once you all post and give a formal agreement to play than I think we should get started.

I...AM...SO...IN!!! I've recently become addicted to PbP Firefly stuff, I've got a character going on our own Sereni-Tree, and I also have 2 started over on the Finding Serenity site... problem is, most of 'em are slow going... probably because school has started, but still... I'd LOVE to join, if it's still possible

As the E used to say: "Anyone can join!" Nice to see you, BC07! ;) And all those other people I have the pleasure of meeting for the first time...

Now, here's the rule list we had going before:

No killing of other author’s characters or of canon characters. In that vein, try to keep canon characters acting like themselves.

Please try to post with consideration for fellow authors and with some consistency to current story lines.

Sub-plots are great and we welcome them, but please try to make them fit into the current stories as much as possible.

Oh, and please keep things as close to PG as possible. If you have a more adult scene you'd like posted, send it to Ertia and She'll put it up on her site.

NOTES: When I contacted Ertia about resurrecting this awhile back, I got a no-go response, sadly. The goddess has too much on her back, what with BDV and the dreaded real life...so that pertains to the "adult scene" thing being reposted somewhere else. But, if'n you're really into that, the most convenient way to do it is with the quick-and-easy "spoiler". For example:

ON APPS

Character applications should consist of (duh) char's name, char's bio, vital stats (height, weight, eye/hair color) and a detailed physical description. Personality descriptions shouldn't be necessary, but if'n you want, fine by all of us. I like to reveal throughout the story instead of laying it all out before I begin, but...yeahs.

ON STYLE

Like the rules said, we're open to all styles and levels, but halfway-decent grammar and non-eye gougingly awful spelling are hardly desired traits for your writing. To adapt on what John said, posts should be at least somewhat descriptive, if only to give everybody else a clear idea of where your character is. Speaking of that...

ON BEING IN TWO, THREE, OR FOUR PLACES AT THE SAME TIME

I've seen this happen a lot on LOS. I mean a LOT. It's actually pretty funny at times, but oh-so-confusing.

ON GOD-MODDING

In RPing, when you control a character not your own, it's called God-Modding, or usually just modding. It's often used to progress plot at flat points in the story. We LOS folk were (and are) pretty loose about playing other people's characters, as long as we didn't make enormous decisions for them. For example:

Mal glanced back at his crew. He was still hurting, still weak, but this was still his gorram ship. He faced the image of 13 squarely, "Well, Thirteen, can't say rightly as I'm all keen on lettin' you onboard, unless you can give me a mighty compellin' reason why I would do that."

Now, this was posted by Ertia. See how she didn't write a single line of 13's dialogue? If she had, that might have turned the situation into one that ended in an inconvenience for me.
