According to a report this past weekend at SaveAngel.org website, ANGEL head honco Joss Whedon put a call in this past Friday to KROQ's Kevin and Bean talk radio show, filling in his fans as to the latest news on the save ANGEL front. The good news is that the fan campaign to save the show seems to be raising some awareness with television executives.
"You know, I think all the noise that's been made by the fans does help. Because we're talking about different venues for not just ANGEL but the Buffyverse in general," Whedon explained on the air to listeners. "Spinoffs or TV movies, or whatever it is; the more interest that's shown, whether or not the show itself, as it is now, gets to come back, that registers with people."
Whedon reiterated that fans should continue to write in to 20th Century Fox Television Productions, the company that produces the series, and continue writing to The WB Network as well as other television networks. "The more the awareness of it is out there, the more it has a chance at finding some kind of life."
And even if the drive to save ANGEL proves to be a failure, Whedon says the door isn't closed on other stories featuring these characters or their Slayer pals: "I think there's a lot more to say about the Buffyverse in general."

He obviously really appreciates the fan response and the campaigns to save the show, he says it helps a lot (evidently there are talks going on for some kind of future for the Buffyverse).

Does anyone have any idea what other characters/stories/aspects of the buffyvers he would/could focus in on for yet another spin off?
Are we talking the life and times of Zander Harris rogue demon hunter or what?

There have been lots of talks of Buffy, etc spinoffs even before the dreaded cancellation fairy gave Angel the axe.
There's still hope for "Ripper" featuring Giles, and if Tru Calling keeps going the way it's going, maybe a Faith series. I'd like to see what happened to her BEFORE she came to Sunnydale.

I'm starting to think Joss may stay in bed with Universal and make Firefly and Buffyverse movies for the next 10 years or more.

I'd still love to see the Buffy animated show that was in the works a few years back -
Failing that a series built around Willow and Kennedy wouldn't suck - it could be like Charmed only good.
Or maybe a faux reality show with Xander building things - he could be like Tim "the tool man" Tailer on home improvment.

To quote Cordelia, "What's a rogue demon?"

"Just keep walkin, preacher man."
