Malcom Reynolds vs Indiana Jones

Not to steal Mostlyharmless's thunder, but his thread got me thinking--and since Nathan Fillion was one of the actors mentioned if they start doing all new "Raiders" movies after this next one--

I'd have to give edge to Indy: They both shoot about the same, they both dress alike--edge to Indy for the hat. A fistfight between the two--no bets here, could go either way. Indy does use the whip both as a weapon and for transportation--could have swung over the abyss at Mr. Universe's to play the Reaver recording. Indy fought with a sword in Temple of Doom, while Mal had trouble with the pillar, but extra credit to Mal for winning with a broken sword.

So, final ruling for me: Indiana Jones by a nose. (or a hat and a whip! ;) )

I agree with most of what you said, but Mal was definitely better with a gun. He's much faster on the draw, and I don't see Indy shooting as quickly or as accurately while walking as Mal (see: Mal shooting the fed in the pilot episode).

After about 5 minutes they'd stop, wonder why they were fighting and then go off and get drink and compare adventures.

LOL I think you're right!

Also, if they took the fight seriously, it depends on who has guns. If it's a fistfight, Indy would win. If Mal has a gun (or Zoe!), he would win.
