It's not my place to tell you whether to be offended or not. We had a pretty specific picture of what we wanted for our initial march (an independent unit just starting up, before they see any action) so the uniforms are more, well, uniform.

Either way, it'll be good to see another person in costume in the parade, and I look forward to meeting you (you made the BWAH! game, right?).

If you want to post or send a photo, I could see if it is in line with what we have put together. If not, no worries.

I switched glasses when your back was turned! Ha ha! You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous is never get involved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less well-known is this: never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!

Well, I suspected that was the case, and that really was all you had to say. Instead it came off like "Sorry, you're not worthy."

If I had thought you INTENDED to offend me, I would have flat out said I was offended.

My apologies if I sounded bitchy about it.

I would, in fact, be the one.

I am always up for meeting new (and old) Browncoats! Hope to see you there!

Given your description of the presentation, I doubt I would. My approach was more a "Serenity Valley" or "Battle of Du-Khang" look with a few of my own personal touches.

So yeah, no worries.

So sorry, I didn't mean to come off as saying "You aren't worthy", because the last thing we want is to be elitist about it.

Lookin' forward to seein' what you've put together!

re-post

We will be continuing our support of Ron's favorite charity, the Al Wooten Center http://www.wootencenter.org/ They provide education, community, and after school programs for at risk youth.

In continuing with the idea to help at risk youth, we've decided on supporting the Atlanta Children's Shelter this year, as well. http://www.atlantachildrensshelter.com They run a support shelter for homeless children in Atlanta. Their services include day care, health care, and education. We will be giving monetary donations, of course, but they also have a wish list of items http://www.atlantachildrensshelter.com/wish_list2007.html If you are interested in providing anything from the list, we will be accepting donations at the fan table. I will deliver all the items on my way home from the convention Tuesday.

And because we really wanted to spread the love this year, we decided to do a follow up to our donations for the Hurricane Katrina relief effort. The New Orleans Public Library system was basically destroyed by Katrina. They are in the process of rebuilding structures and their collections and need serious help. So to that end, all the proceeds from the SEBC Yearbook will be going to The New Orleans Public Library rebuilding fund http://nutrias.org/ We will also take donations of Firefly, Serenity, the novel, and/or the Those Left Behind TPB. You can drop them at the fan table and we'll ship them out after the convention.

So that's the skinny on what we're working towards this year. I'm off to cross-post like a mad woman. Thanks for all your help and support!

Serenity
