Oh, you're in for a real treat, Muggi. Might also want to get "Those Left Behind," the comic book link between the end of Firefly and the Serenity movie. Try to get the collected three in a single volume; otherwise, you can get the three issues separately, at Amazon.com .
The official companions are really a great resource. You may also want to invest in the Serenity RPG. Even if you don't play, it is as close to a technical manual as you can get, right now.

Yes, posters on the mythology threads can be downright nasty! They scare me!
H/J is a little daunting (21,000+)posts, but everyone there is really nice...unless you're an Emily fan who wants to bash Heather. Then, you might want to check out E/J or the Battle thread. The porch is just people hanging out, discussing whether we'll ever get to see Jake without the towel (probably not!), Jerichon, the weather...stuff like that. Really easy going--even on Emily fans!
Prospero wouldn't mind me posting a link to his board (he is the site administrator), but people have been banned for posting links to other fandom sites.
Back to FIREFLY, I can't get my Jericho banner to post in my signature. Any idea who might be able to help me?

Oh, now I wish I'd paid more attention in the beginning, when my better half told me how good Jericho was (come to think of it, she got me to watch Firefly over my own, "better" judgement, too). Haven't seen all of it, and, certainly not in the order it was intended, but, I have always been a big fan of the post-holocaust survival genre, so, this tickles me right nicely.
The captions are a hoot! I do love the fact that Captain Tightpants has made a place for himself among the Rangers, though, I really can't see him bein' the one tryin' to inveigle the womenfolk away... That'd be more Jayne's speed, I think.

Ah...but the specific Ranger who wanted to be stolen is not a big Jayne fan! She loves Malcolm Reynolds though...
Anyway, all of the episodes are free for viewing on the Jericho website!
