Okay so I guess that some of you may smell some bias coming off this post... Well I guess it's yet another sign of your tragic space dementia 
. Seriously, I fell in love with the show largely because of it's thoroughly layered, multi-dimensionnal characters. No matter how I tried to put it their names still wound up on top. 'Point is : I didn't pick Mal & River because I *like* Firefly and I'm posting on a Firefly fan site. I did it because I honestly feel that they are the best gorram fiction characters ever written/acted!

Marion Ravenwood did come to mind too when I was thinking of top female characters. I should have given in and just added her and Indy and been done w/ it.
