Hug the mamma! Heating pad, ice packs, and analgesics are her friends for a while. Tell her I said "welcome to the zipper club" and she may be able to do crunches again in about five years. (Okay, I'm a slow healer and I don't really WANT to do them..) The numbness is normal and will eventually lessen. There is numbness somewhere under all the owie, honest.
Here's to the first of *many* sunrises you will no doubt enjoy... more or less... depends on how much sleep you were hoping for.

HUGS thanks for the thoughts...actually the boredom, it turned out, was better than the horror of discovering I had two hours today and 3 tomorrow to move the complete contents of my classroom, dispose of the contents of another classroom and set my whole classroom up in the new room before they seal the tile and I can't get in for the two days that are designated and paid for teachers to spend preparing their rooms.....@!#$%^&*()!@#$%^&*(@#$%^!!!

Cara's not going to be able to afford DC either, and everything just seems to be tumbling down around my ears. I'm tired of trying to keep a positive attitude about all this shit when nothing is changing and nothing is getting better or easier or happier. I'm out of things to believe in and I hate it. I just want to smash things. Really, actually, I just want things to get better, but that's looking pretty ruttin unlikely.

Are your primary or secondary aged kids? The only place tecahers have their own room is in primarys chool (prep to grade 6). Once you hit high school, teachers ahve to move every lesson like the kids...so any resource you need you prtty much have to carry with you. Even specialty subjects like art, science there will be several rooms you shift between...
