Maybe. But Jason Dohring's character sounds suspiciously like Logan...which is a definite plus in my book.

Alright, my first concern is this no demon stuff, granted...it can't be too much like Angel, but you can't get by with stake-ings and hotchicks alone, see Blade for additional info. The demon aspect gave Angel it's richness, variety, and purpose.

With Moonlight....it's good vamps vs. evil vamps, not living in the sewer put penthouses?
OK, I'll stop being skeptical....it's "Drive" that made me that way.

Yeah sure it's not Angel...the writing isn't as good, the producer's a dingbat, and no David Boreanz... so it's fail quick at least( unless there's a lot of relationship dramas and someone sleeps with a hot teen stud or bikini clad jello wrestler)

Apparently David Greenwalt made a lot of positive changes while he was involved. I can backup the Jason Dohring hiring as a positive change, but as for the rest, I will be waiting to see. Like the writer of the article said, hopefully they'll keep a lot of Greenwalt's changes...he definitely knows his stuff with vamp detective shows. Will miss him terribly though regardless. Hopefully his health issues are resolved and he feels better soon.

Maybe he'll be able to rejoin the show later on.

MSG: the new showrunner may not be much and I know zilch about Alex O'Loughlin, but Joel Silver was a producer for Veronica Mars...a show that was basically Buffy in Nancy Drew's world. The writing was usually excellent, most of the cast/characters WAY above average. Particularly Kristen Bell and Jason Dohring...who plays psychotic jackass REALLY well--yet manages to make you sympathize with him just the same. Looks-wise, he has more in common with Edward Norton than David Boreanaz though.
