Just had to reply to this thread...
I can't even tell you how many times I've been bashed for backing The Postman. I'm not saying it's in my Top 20 (or 200 for that matter) but definitely worth watching. Some really interesting ideas in there.

That's a shame. I saw it in the theater and part of the appeal to me is the scenery. The shots of the Pacific Northwest are breathtaking.
I love this movie. It is over-the-top in places but I like the characters. I find them unpredictable, not formulaic.
Plus it's one of the few movies my dad and I can agree on. And that's a huge plus for me.

I remember seeing this movie on Christmas Eve because I just had to get out of the house! My mother was really getting under my skin!
Anyway.....please read the book when you have time. The book is excellent!
And this is one of Costner's better movies
