Well folks, we're in the home stretch. 22 more days until DragonCon, and we unveil ourselves to the world. Man, I can remember tossing the idea around months ago,, with 200+ days to go, wondering if we might be able to get half a dozen or so folks interested in doing this, and now, we have 35 people marching !!!!! I am proud to serve with each and every one of you.
Gah, enough sentimentality from a blathering SFC. On to the thread details!

We represent a newly-formed unit of Independent soliders at the outbreak of the hostilities (prior to Du Khang and Serenity Valley).
First and foremost, remember that this is a fan-based organization, and our first rule is "Show up. March. Have Fun!"
Our inaugural march will be taking place at DragonCon in Atlanta in September of 2007. Until that date, we ask all recruits to refrain from wearing the uniform in public.
We do have a few rules and regulations that must be met in order to be considered as a member, including uniform requirements and weapons requirements. These will be outlined below. Please be sure to read over all the information and confirm that you can meet all of these requirements before applying for membership. We are not trying to keep people out, but we do want to present a united, uniform Battalion of Independent soldiers, and one of the best ways to do this is to look the same.
There are two basic types of uniforms we will be using: Type A and Type B.
Type A will use Mal as a model:
This "uniform" consists of the following:
•Pants with brown stripes up the sides of the legs – please see below for approved merchants.
•An undershirt – black or brown, long-sleeved. Button-ups are acceptable but preferably without a high collar.
•The red vest that the CO has designed. You may either purchase from him or ask for a pattern and fabric swatch.
•The overcoat that the CO has designed. You may either purchase from him or ask for a pattern and fabric swatch.
•Helmet – needed for parade, but other head coverings approved for non-marching appearances (see below).
•Boots – please see below for approved styles and merchants.
•Scarf – Red for enlisted, blue for officers.
•Dark brown belt – 2” is recommended.
The Type B uniform uses Zoe as a model:
This "uniform" consists of the following:
•Pants with brown stripes up the sides of the legs – please see below for approved merchants.
•An undershirt – black or brown, long-sleeved. Button-ups are acceptable but preferably without a high collar.
•The red vest that the CO has designed. You may either purchase from him or ask for a pattern and fabric swatch.
•The "smock" that is worn underneath the red vest. You may either purchase from him or ask for a pattern and fabric swatch.
•Mail sleeves – please see below for approved choices.
•Helmet – needed for parade, but other head coverings approved for non-marching appearances (see below).
•Boots – please see below for approved styles and merchants.
•Scarf – Red for enlisted, blue for officers.
•Dark brown belt – 2” is recommended.
General notes on the uniforms:
•While in all the battle scenes we have seen on screen the uniforms have seen some wear and tear, our unit will not appear that way. DO NOT distress your parade uniform. This pristine uniform is the first uniform we request you have so that you will be able to represent us properly. If you wish to have a ‘battle worn’ look, we ask that you please reserve this for personal appearances and have this as your secondary uniform.
•Sidearms are left up to the individual (pistol and knife--please have them appr

Two and a half more days to make it w/o strangling anyone.
And I start a new job on Monday.
More random thread abuse to come I'm sure.
I think nighttime is dark so you can imagine your fears with less distraction.

HUGS good luck Mircea..If you have to strangle someone, try muttering random things while you do it and be in full view of everyone...also try to write a single spaced journal of crazed rantings about the potato people and such first...set up the insanity defense ( Well your honor obviously he didn't know what he was doing or he wouldn't have done it with witnesses...and look at this journal)

I'll keep that advice in mind, MSG.
I think I already have a couple of journels like that laying around. One for each of the voices.

white hot molten panic that I depart Australia in 15 days... and BUMP!
Oh and when you're strangling them Mircea - stop suddenly and look over your shoulder and say to the vacant space, "how many more you want me to kill?" that'll keep the others from tackling you mid-strangle...

Eeek....eeek...eeek.
In three weeks' time, I will be in the car on my way down to Atlanta.
My pants are coming in a few days, they are being shipped! They're the last major part of my uniform. Then Daisy and I can pose and do some uniform pics for everyone.
Know that tickly feeling in the pit of your stomach? Like the anticipation you feel right before the roller coaster goes over the hill? Yeah.... I think alot of the 76th'ers are feeling that right about now.
Caffeine? Who needs caffeine?! I'll be running on pure adrenaline.
