Wow - I only just found this (and only just registered with the site). Too bad it seems horribly out of date! At any rate, I've been toying with the idea myself for a while, as marketing-the-show ploy, of course :)

I'm a very experienced DM, NWN builder, and NWN custom content user. If the D20 modern system is up to it (I'm not sure if it is yet), we could really make something amazing.

A module isn't really necessary, per se - what is needed is a DM-run CAMPAIGN. I run a regular D&D group each week, and I never really need to script or such - just good storylines and believable areas. Anybody could do it!

Interested, anyone?

- Forrestwolf (also name on NWN)

I'd include all of our favorite characters (crew and villains alike) as well as toss in a few other Joss-verse characters. Since there are constraints to what I can build, Serenity herself will have to be a village since there isn't currently an option for building spaceships or futuristic technology at all.

I've just started the module so it will most likely be a while before the module is finished. Does anyone here own Neverwinter Nights and would they be interested in play-testing or playing the module when it's finished?

I've actually got a couple of modules planned. The first would involve River's rescue (rewriting Firefly history a bit to include a PC in the rescue with Simon). The second would involve Badger and some employment opportunities. Saffron and Niska may also make appearances (if not in the 2nd module, in future modules). Let me know. I'd love to get feedback from the Browncoats on this project.

Actually with the Aurora Toolset you should be able to build a spacehips interior if you have the time. The toolset is extremly powerful and I have seen programmers use it to create things from scratch. I think you have to be a very good programmer to that stuff but it isn't impossible. I'd look up other people's projects using the toolset and if they have something to what you want ask them ow they did it.

Oh, and play Cantr II at www.cantr.net.

I would be definitely be interested in this, Jubliee (are you even still around?). I'm in the middle of NWN as we speak. I'd love a new module to tool around in.

Count me in!

Well, I'm already looking into it. I downloaded some "Hak Paks" - NWN custom content packages - with these things in them:

1) modern "Complex" interior - will work for Serenity corridors and the cargo bay
2) modern "City" exterior - good for Core worlds like Ariel
3) Oriental interior - WOW! - this will be a great set for Serenity sleeping areas
4) Oriental exterior - good for some buildings like the magistrate's building in Jayne's Paradise
5) exterior rustic "drylands" - great for the wild west exteriors

That's the areas, for now. It may be enough, though I'd like to find some modern INTERIORS other than the Complex for things like the med-bay.

I've also got these items/people I'm looking into:

1) Mexican western-style clothing, some fancy late 19th century clothing, 3 musketeer hats ("Nice hat!" is a necessity, and these are the only ones I've got), dresses, Asian-style dresses.

2) Guns - lots o' guns. This won't be a problem, even though NWN is supposed to be medieval :)

3) modern placeables - should be very useful. I'd like to reskin the Coke can into a Blue Sun can, as well as some other reskins.

4) nifty items like umbrellas (one with a chinese dragon!), fans, etc.

5) various faces that may help flesh out the Firefly theme.

I'm going to be trying to put it all together, and see what the end result LOOKS like. I'll also try adding a few new textures, though I'm not that experienced at that sort of thing.

Afterwards, I'll post a few screenshots so people can comment. The plan would be for me or someone else to run a regular roleplaying session using the NWN client and the Firefly Hak Pak I'll put together! We'll see how far I get :)

The haks are all assembled, and I'm making nifty screenshots. Check out the first in the images section! I'll get back to hashing out the T20 (Traveller) rules in NWN...

The plan is to run a campaign, and allow others to do the same - it won't be a MODULE per-se, but rather a DM-run soundstage - no single-player, just multiplayer roleplaying.

I just stared a Yahoo group for the development project, and sent out some invites. If you'd like to join up, just let me know your email! You're welcome to contact me (kline at researchsupport.com) as well.

I'll be running beta-test games at the upcoming Neverwinter Nights convention, NWCon - I need to get things ready by April 16, as a result!

Bioware will even mention it in their weekly news blurb, and it will be a "Highlight Game" for the convention...gulp!

Any help greatly appreciated - haks are just about ready to post, so people should be able to get actual content from me VERY SOON.

Thanks,
Forrestwolf

Hey, I've never played Neverwinter Nights (though I've heard it's quite good), but I'll be happy to buy a copy and help out with some playtesting or whatever.

If you don't mind, add me to the yahoo e-mail list. E-Mail is ardenastridge@hotmail.com

Thanks
