I don't mind the idea that the vampire thing might not be that obvious right off. Maybe they've decided to avoid prosthetics and/or over-the-top special effects...could be a good thing, considering what BLOOD TIES special effects and makeup usually looked like, which was bloody awful. Romantic dramas aren't always that boring to me. I actually liked BEAUTY and the BEAST at the time (though don't know if I'd like it now). Especially considering who's involved behind the scenes, I've got my hopes up.
I read somewhere yesterday that they're recasting the female lead. I will have to wait and see the whole thing to make a final judgement. I need more than good actors and writing...chemistry is also a must for me. Looking back, that was the main thing BLOOD TIES had going for it--chemistry between the leads. That's what kept me giving it chance after chance--I wanted to like it. LOST has that for me...all those things. VERONICA had it, too (RIP). Even BONES has it.
HEROES: Caught a couple of eps. on SCI-FI channel. Couldn't really tell if I'd like it or not. Maybe if I saw if from the beginning...?

Things are definitely looking up for this series, I think. I have complete faith that David Greenwalt can turn this into something worth investing my time.

I'm extremely disappointed, but I'm still giving it a shot. Still consider Jason Dohring one of the best parts of VERONICA MARS (third only to Kristen Bell and Veronica's relationship with her father), so that's still a plus, at least. Wouldn't mind if they recast the lead with James Marsters (since David Boreanaz already has a steady gig 
), but hey. Whatever.
