Kevin Reilly is now at F*X

Hey All

I know talking about anything regarding FOX is verboten, but I heard a bit of news regarding the ever so popular variation of musical chairs that is whose now in charge of various networks.

Kevin Reilly, who was in charge at NBC for the last two years and helped to usher in THE OFFICE, MY NAME IS EARL, HEROES, 30 ROCK, FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, DEAL OR NO DEAL (I know that show sucks, but you can't deny the massive success that show has), will now be running FOX alongside his former business partner Peter Liguori. When the two ran FX, they single handedly turned it from a second run network to one of the main rivals of HBO in producing quality cable shows.

I actually find this somewhat optimistic news. Reilly is one of the more talent friendly execs who'd fight for a show that goes against the grain (see his NBC shows), so maybe if there's another cult show on FOX that needs saving, maybe appealing to him wouldn't be a lost cause.

Besides, isn't it a fact that all the network execs that screwed FIREFLY over in 02 have left the network by now, so ragging against FOX now is pointless since it's all new people. Of course, these new people are now fucking over Tim with anything he does, but that's beside the point.

So do you guys think that the guy responsible for THE OFFICE and HEROES being on FOX is good news, or is it too little, too late.

I dunno. So long as 24 is on, I'll tune into FOX.

Only kidding - the networks are very different over here in Australia - but I would agree that this is, indeed, news that give me some degree of optimism!

Thanks for the update - lets hope we get some good stuff that we can keep getting out of F*X...

( sorry - old prejudices die hard...)
