This thread is devoted to the adventures of Special Branch, the spin-off story to Sereni-Tree.

Here you will find the guide to the characters, their description and history (as well as who would ideally play them on the screen)

I'll try to post details on the ships, as well as important events in the story's history

This is a work in progress, so at first the guide will not be as detailed, but I hope to slowly add to it to make it more comprehensive

List of Characters:

Special Branch/The Resistance:

Capt. Seth Franklin AKA ‘Safe’: Former Alliance soldier. Special OPS. Before the war was a Police Captain. No family. Was married, but had a messy divorce mostly caused by his being recruited for the war. She didn't agree with the Alliance Ideals, he was career soldier. Towards the end of the war, was court marshalled for killing a superior officer. Spent time as security, PI, and bounty hunter. Strong sense of loyalty and duty, but has no qualms about killing the bad guys. Had seen too much and may be get weary of it all. Athletic build, in his early 40's.

Flechette DeBeaucamp: Tough, no nonsense. Cajun ancestry. Uses a restaurant as her cover. Became part of the underground because her sister was used as an experiment, similar to River’s, only it left her sister as nothing more than a drooling husk when the Blue Sun Corp. discarded her.

Versa Lettrice: Classic bookworm, librarian type. Photographic memory. Loves digging into Alliance records and papers, breaking codes and finding the hidden stuff. Code breaker for the underground. Versa isn't really a fighter. Not that she won't or doesn't know how. It's just that she’d prefer not to. When she does fight, it shocks people. She'll just shrug it off and say she saw it in a book once.

Amy Lisse: Bubbly and a bit shy. Loves clothes. Ended up working for the underground just because she befriended Flechette and Versa.

Jack Castor AKA CastIron Jack: Soldier in the war. Served in Safe's hand picked squad. Goofy, loyal and resourceful. Seasoned soldier.

Scorpion Regent (aka SR): A really gruff war-torn space pirate. He has the ability to travel through time though it's not an ability he likes to use due to its unpredictable nature. He is wholeheartedly in love with Seryn but has taken a leave of absence in the recent chaos on board the ship(s). He is currently fighting a different war in another time, at the battle of Stalingrad.

The Being – An ethereal being that began to appear to Needy after his “death.” Taking on the form of Needy’s old friend “Serenity” in appearance, The Being sole purpose seems to be to guide the former companion in his destiny to save humanity.

Seryn Antares: “…a fighter pilot and general handywoman. Watch out for her rabbits…”.

Wisp: An “Ex military brat” that learned to fend for himself on the streets. Since his time as a teenager he’s got into scrapes as well as provided expertise to shady characters (being the electronics wizard that he is) but now he seems to have put that behind him in favour of thrilling heroics. Well, until an encounter with an old flame didn’t end so well.

Vixen Goddard: A dangerous ex-con who briefly shared a romance with Wisp, until her nasty habit of murdering people drove him away. Needless to say, their recent reunion on Boros wasn’t exactly pretty.

Needy: Former companion who is haunted by an unearthly being that only he can see. Disguised as Serenity – an old friend – he is told that he must embrace his destiny if he is to save the verse. Cue mental instability.

Soul: Captain of the ship, Soul has recently been separated (due to a certain Giant Space Hiccup) from his fiance, the mother-to-be Serenity. He might not mind, he’s got a lot in his past that needs dealing with.

Passengers:
Kyra McTaggert: News reporter with a history with Needy. Determined to make amends for the past, she is currently doing whatever she can to find the missing companion who, she believes, was kidnapped by strangers from another world.

Milton Reeve: Was a protégé of Needy at the companion house until Alliance officers arrested him, charging him with being a traitor.

Open file Background- Was inlisted in Aeriel Youth Military Academy at age 11 by his parents. Showed Great promise and skill quickly becoming a fore runner in his age group. Was often rebelious in class and training- Disciplined 27 times, Major Disciplined 4 times. Went AWOL at age 14 Causing substational disruption to Base security and believed theft of Key technologies.

While at the AYMA William was noticed to have an exceptional Mental proccesing capacity. Without his knowledge he was used in Project:EINSTEIN which effectivley boosted his IQ to around 200+. Unfortunately It was decided that due to his undisciplined attitude he was unfit for stage 2. Instead He was placed in a situation for him to escape so EINSTEIN could be studided in a free environment. This was known as Project:FreeBird.

FreeBird was A top level parlimentary undertaking.

After initiation William quickly shed his real name in favour of his callsign WISP. Recon showed he lived on the streets for a period of 3 months after initiation moving steadily away from The Academy Eventually reaching Shinon. Wisp engaged in several menial jobs such as cleaning, and cooking to support himself. He began stealing Parts from a technology Wholesale and creating Devices which he sold on the black market. He became a self taught expert In High Tech Crime.

After 14 months on Shinon he suddenly disappeared without trace. He was eventually located on Highgate in The employ of a Powerfull Crime lord named Vankeetsen. The 6 months he worked under Vankeetsen, Cortex crime increased by 23.7%.

Wisp however did not work by choice, he had been kidnapped on Shinon. To escape Wisp allerted the authorities of the crime ring and escaped during an alliance assault.

He was next seen on Osiris with another cadet from AYMA named Vixen Goddard. The two engaged in a spree of crimes before Wisp dissapeared again.

He reappeared on Garrison joing a crew of a vessel named the Serenitree. Reports of his activities on the vessel were difficult to track due to its mobile nature.

He was located in a Hospital On Boros after suffering sever injuries from an unknown cause. Agents were sent in to recall Project:FreeBird as it was become harder to contain and track. However during Interrogation by local opperatives while Specialists were being sent in Wisp escaped and has not been seen from since.

Project: FreeBird has been Scuttled and Project:Caged Sparrow has been launched to find and bring In Wisp.

Notes
Project:EINSTEIN- was a chemical compound combined with low does radiation that caused adult stem cells to specialise into Neural pathways resulting in Increased IQ and Mental Processing.

Ariel Youth Military Academy- Young teenagers mainly from privilaged families were trained as officers with an intense training program. The curriculum includes Hand to hand combat, Small, Medium, And Heavy arms training, Flight school, Strategy, And Computer technologies.

Vixen Goddard- *File Requested*

Vankeetsen- Powerful Crime lord controlling many illegal smuggling rings along with countless drug and fraud offenses.

Milton Reeve:

(Shia LaBeouf)

Age: 19
Occupation: Male Companion
Character: Part idealist, part dreamer. Young and inexperienced with many things in life, but will rise to the challenge when it comes to doing "the right thing". Incredibly loyal, especially to Needy.

History: Milton Reeve began his training at the Boros companion house over a year ago, under the guidance of Bernard "Needy" Needham.
Milton quickly developed a fondness for Needy, looking up to him not only for guidance in his line of work, but in every other area of life too.
At the time of their first meeting, Needy had been the subject of a major inquiry by his peers, and was fairly reserved. During this period, Milton felt very protective over him, despite his feeling that it should have been the other way around.

After Needy disappeared under mysterious circumstances, Milton was one of the few who was not only interrogated, but actually imprisoned by the Alliance under the false charge of "Accessory to Treason"
Despite their attempts to gauge as much incriminating information as they could about "Needy" from his colleague, their efforts bore no fruit.
After being paid a visit by Needy's former lover, Kyra (a woman he despised for what she put his friend through), he was later freed by members of the Resistance movement posing as Alliance officers.

Believing it was this same group of freedom fighters that were responsible for the kidnapping and death of Needy however, Milton sought to bring down them and their organisation.
After being brought into their base of operations, he contacted the Alliance, hoping that the two enemies would wipe each other out, allowing him to slip out.
It was only after he realised the truth - that Needy was still alive, and that The Resistance (or Special Branch as they were known) were in fact "the good guys" - did he realise his mistake.
But it seemed to be too late, as many within the organisation were captured and presumably imprisoned by a crack team of Alliance oficers.

Milton was soon re-united with Needy and, despite his major error in judgment, was invited, along with his old "friend" Kyra, to join the crew of rebels on their ship.

Whilst trying to fit it with the crew, he befriended one of the rebels that had help break him out - the attractive and bubbly Amy Lisse.
He has since made peace with Kyra, as well as having been granted forgiveness by Needy for his actions.

Now he is doing all he can to make up for his past actions which, mistake or not, has cost the freedom of numerous members of The Resistance.

After helping to defeat the duplicitous "Ciaran" who had stolen the crew's ship, Milton found doing the right thing had consequences. During a confrontation with Needy, he was brutally murdered by his "friend".

His murder has been pinned on the treacherous Ciaran, who has also apparently died from her injuries.

Age:21

Bio: Vixen was Born into the Wealthy Goddard family on Osiris. Her father was a member of Parliament and her mother a leading socialite. She has 2 brothers one Older, one younger. At a young age Vixen suffered from a mild hormonal imbalance leading to a more aggressive personality. She was unhappy and depressed throughout most of her young life. She fell in with crime rings and rebelious groups and was arrested several times. This culminated at the age of 15 when she killed both of her parents in a staged break in. Unfortunately her guilt was discovered but due to her age and back ground she was sent to The Ariel Youth Military Academy rather than prison in an attempt to root out her violent nature through discipline.

Unfortunately all that occured was she was trained further in the use of fire arms. At the age of 18 she was discharged from the academy but deffered her place in officer core for a year of travelling. After leaving the academy she began a violent crime spree across the outer core.

She is currently 78th on the 100 most wanted list but her location is unknown.
