Desperately in need of a Beta

Hi! I wrote a series (The Operative Series) a few months back. As I got closer to finishing them I realized that there were elements of a sequel story developing. I had to put this on a back burner as I graduated and started a new job... but I finally have a bit more time to revisit this idea.

I've started writing and have a general idea/plot outline of how I see this story developing and have finally started the first chapter. BUT I'm finding that the road from the end of the Operative Series to where this series starts is really rocky. The first chapter is getting really long and I'm starting to wonder if I'm getting too much into the set up. I don't want to get into too much detail mostly because it's my baby and I dont want to present her to the BSR before her time.

Anyway, if anyone out there is 1) willing, 2) has the time, 3) is familiar with the prequel series to help me iron this out a bit. I would be very grateful! Thanks!

I seem to remember reading that though I'd have to refresh my memory.

I just came on to offer my services as a beta to anyone who needed it, and saw your plea. So I'd be happy to help if you haven't already found someone else. What are your pairings? I generally prefer canon but I don't mind beta-ing otherwise.
