I was watching season 1 Angel for the first time. The episode that shows Angel turning into a vampire has a couple scenes in a tavern. The serving maid with a small speaking part is Saffron.

Firefly is my favorite show.

Actress' name is Christina Hendricks. (Way to go Christina! You're officially part of a cult following.)

Whedon seems to take care of his own, right? he seems to reuse a lot of his players.

A hat trick is a sports term used to designate 3 points scored (or assisted) by a single player. Most people think it's purely a hockey term, but I think it originated with Cricket. Any subjects of the crown able to confirm my theory?

Anyway, back to the question:
Yes, Joss loves to use the same actors again and again. around the board you'll see references to "Hat tricks".

It appears our dear YoSaffBridge is not yet a 'hat trick' because she's not been spotted on Buffy.

"Just keep walkin, preacher man."

Yes, "Hat Trick" came from that awful sport, Cricket. The taking of three wickets with three successive balls meant that the bowler was entitled to a new hat at the expense of his club.

It's now used in many (all?) sports in the UK where three successive achievements occur (three goals, winning three matches in a row etc etc).

I believe I've also seen her recently in a Honda Accord commercial. The 'loves me, loves me not' one.
