Rose,

I hear you on the gun safety thing. The rule I was brought up with is, "The gun is always loaded." Even if you checked, even if the chamber is open--it's still loaded. So it never, ever gets pointed at something you don't intend to shoot. There was an incident that I posted a while back that's illustrative of my own views on gun safety. Was at a range day at the Naval Special Warfare mountain training center in La Posta, CA. We were qualifying with rifles (M-4s, in this case). One of the kids had a malfunction. So like a good little boy, he keeps his rifle pointed down range and puts his hand in the air. One of the range masters goes over to help him out, and what does the bonehead do? He starts turning his body, muzzle and all, toward the firing line. Range master clamps a hand down on the barrel of the M-4 and gives it a good swift tug to pull the kid off balance whilst simultaneously giving him an elbow to the face. Kid dropped like a sack of potatoes. Heh. Bet he never turned his muzzle on the firing line again!

Thanks Causal. I never have anyone mention Firefly so I guess there are not that many Browncoats in my area.

I'm in Michigan north of Detroit. But I’ve met some other Browncoats in Ann Arbor and I think some are east of here. So I know they are out there. I just never run in to them on my travels.

y'know what the great thing about my mother is? the great thing about my mother (aside from her hat-knitting skills) is her cake-making skills. this year for my birthday i figured it'd be awefully shiny to have a cake like simon's in OOG. so what does my mother do? she makes me one, of course
