Hey all,
Im a sculptor by trade and a huge firefly fan to boot. I've been doing some comic style busts lately hellboy,spiderman...blah blah
Im really thinking about doing a 14 inch or so table bust of Jayne in his goofy hat and selling a limited run of them in bonded bronze or something.
What do you think? Would anyone be willing to buy such a thing or should I just make one for myself (hehe)
They would probably be around $150 a piece (just a guesstamate)

Probably just make one for yourself, but then post all the shiny pictures!!!
Please help Haken keep this site running by occasionally clicking on some of the sponsored ad links on the side of the page!

The Jayne fans would probably get into a bidding war over it, though. In bronze, $150 is pretty standard.
Do you display anywhere, Metaphore?
I know just the picture you could use...but then, you probably have one already, right?

Well, Im in the process of redoing my website so there isnt much there at the moment (almost nothing actually)
But if you care to check back (I plan on working on it a bit tonight) here is the link

I just recently graduated so i havent gotten my act together yet. Im going to make the bust for myself either way, maybe I'll donate one for the site to auction or something to help with the fundage.
Oh and I hadnt settled on a photo yet, if you have any suggestions feel free!

So glad you asked...I'm sending the link to you by e-mail. It's got that *GLEAM* of his.
Now, it is a promotional picture, so probably property of Fox, but here's what I know about copyright law as it applies to the artist - once you create the original artwork, the original artwork is yours and there is no infringement on the original photograph copyright, because you are not reproducing the photograph, but re-imaging it. Also, being a promotional photograph, with the photographer uncredited practically makes the origional photo public domain.
Does that make sense to you?
The link to your Web site doesn't, so I'll check back again later. And congratulations! I'll be starting school soon myself.

Site should be up now, sorry about that I was working on it.
As far as the copyright thing, your right, its very hard to sue an artist over things like that, im not worried :)
Ill probably start on it next week. Ill make sure to post some pics when i get it underway.
Thats some nice stuff on your site as well!
