My left pinky right? Not my right. That means I can still draw, ok then, if HE asked me, then yes. Provided I can set it up by wrapping the base of my finger with string or some such to make it numb by the time I'm ready to cut it off.

And hey, if God's doing the asking forget the paramedics and the hospital, I'll just ask Him to put it back on when I'm done, the true God wouldn't want to see me suffer. I can't say what the evangelical god would want.

Nothing makes this life more tolerable than a show where I can forget myself for a few moments and get lost in it, so I would have to say yes. I don't like the idea of losing a part on my hand, but I guess a good series is worth a lesser digit. I hope there will be morphine available for the I'm-not-much-into-pain crowd.

Hmm, so according to the conditions laid out, I would be able to use intense painkillers before hand and have it re-attached after. So, no pain and I'd be getting the pinky back. I'd consider it.

Actually, though, the more I think about this, the more my reaction becomes, "Wow, you mean that's all I'd have to do? What's the holdup? Bring on the axe!" Hmmm... I wonder if Summer would be available for chopping duties.

It would be like our secret handshake. They'd have to write it into the plot at some point that Mal would lose his finger and have it re-attached, just like the rest of us Browncoats.

Also the original Chrisisall post said nothing about a one time deal. If you add all the chopped pinkys together at ten years each - that's a lot of years.
They better come up with decent cryostasis or something so that we can sleep every so often and catch up later at one almighty shindig.
