OK. this seems like a good place to ask this. Or at the very least it's a place. And I can ask.

Back in October 2006'ish there was a thread about the idea of building our own verse ala SCA. I can google up a link to the thread but I can't pull it up for some hellish reason. Does anyone know if anything has ever come of this?

We just got back from a min-Pennsic style middle eastern event named D.I.D. and I'm thinking such an event for the 'verse would....uhhh....be good.

Please excuse the self-bump. My, that sounds....kinky.

Some clarification as to why I'm bringing this up may be in order. After spending a weekend theme-camping with the belly dancers and saz-players it strikes me that a weekend of Firefly could be very fun, what with the costumes and geese juggling. Some role playing, both table top and larping; some camping; some shindigging, etc.

BTW, I have property this could be done on...I'm trying to guage interest and viability before I start moving gates around and start building firepits. And killing fire ants. The fire ant massacre looms nigh....

This sounds like a lot of fun, and actually feasible considering the general layout of the Sereniverse anyway. Lots of rustic milieux, with opportunities for costuming, fusion food prep, rainsticks, drunk marriage rites, etc. :)

And at the same time it could be cheap and easy for people to get started in since almost ANYTHING is a valid costume idea. I've got the rustic covered, complete with bovines. I've got some tech covered with broadband/ ham radio/ computers. I'm thinking this could fly nicely.
