The BUFFY movie.
Sure, Joss's vision was raped by the director, but his undertones are still evident. Had I never seen the movie, not sure I would've ever tried the series.
So glad I did.

"What if you could have the power? Now? In every generation, one Slayer is born...because a bunch of men who died thousands of years ago made up that rule...
So I say we change the rule. I say my power should be our power...
Every girl who could have the power, will have the power. Can stand up, will stand up...
Make your choice. Are you ready to be strong?"--Buffy Summers, May 20, 2003

ANYTHING with Bruce Campbell is the best...Though I found Man with the Screaming Brain a bit hard to follow.

My two favorite movies are not regarded by most as very good. But here goes:
STARSHIP TROOPERS (Not 2...sorry.)
BATTLEFIELD EARTH (Read the book...Damn Good!)
Later,
Mike

CAVEMAN--with Ringo Starr, Shelley Long, Barbara Bach. Yes, the jokes are adolescent and dumb, but the music rocks. I love it when they are sitting around the campfire jamming. Definitely for anyone who has watched one too many "cavemen invent civilization shows".
Gotta disagree with the characterization of MYSTERY MEN as a bad movie. It's a great movie! If you like a dark, noirish comedy about a bunch of wanna be superheroes, you love this. And the cast is fantab. Geoff Rush as Casanova Frankenstein (stuck in the 70s supervillain), William Macy as The Shoveler, Greg Kinnear as the obnoxious hero, Captain Amazing, Janeane Garafalo as the Goth heroine, The Bowler, who has these conversations with her dead father's skull.
