What might the cast have looked like? Anyone got better ideas? There are two I can't think of though...

Mal - Clive Owen
Zoe - Alex Kingston
Wash - Eddie Izzard
Kaylee - Anna Friel
Jayne - Ross Kemp
Inara - Parminder Nagra
Book - Don Warrington
Simon - ???
River - ???

(One or two of these names might be unknown outside the UK... you can always Wiki for them)

Fawlty Towers In Space.

Seriously though, I can see Lee Evans play Wash. He's a great serious actor and a stand up. He could capture Wash's personality. Hehehehe. I just thought of another person.. Could Jonathan Ross play Wash?

The lead actor from Life on Mars, John Simm, would make a good Simon methinks.

Hugh Laurie would make a really cool Badger. I can see it now!

Abby Sciouto: "Are either of you guys Libras?"
Tony Dinozzo & Kate Todd: "No."
Abby Sciouto: "Good thing 'cause they are so screwed this week!"

- 'The Good Samaritan', NCIS.

Nah, Badger would be an Aussie.

YoSaffBridg would stay as an American I think as would Early.

Izzard = Wash. Hmm, bit to big I think. Need someone on par with or smaller than Zoe.

Ricky Gervais as Monty. Not as big but I think he'd be able to bring a strange kind of humour to the part.

Simon and River are a tough one?

Maybe Cillian Murphy or Jonathan Rhys-Meyers for Simon?

And Hugh Laurie as Badger would so totally rock.

It would have been WAAAAY talkier, and the FX would have been just okay, and Badger would have been a Yank. Plus, it would have been shot on video, and introduced by Alistair Cooke.

It would have run for two seasons, instead of a half, so we'd only have 12 episodes.

They may think their sins are original, but for the most part they are petty and repetitive.

A great twist. Imagine the variety of accents!!!

I think the original list has too many soap 'actors' in it (shudders at the thought), but each to their own.

My take would be (incl some already mentioned):

Mal: Ewan Macgregor
Zoe: Naomie Harris
Wash: Simon Pegg
Jayne: Sean Bean (not sure about if he can pull of the humour though)
Kaylee: Laura Fraser or Emma Pierson
Inara: Sophia Myles or Rachel Weisz
Simon: Cillian Murphy
River: Stephanie Leonidas
Book: Pete Postlethwaite or Peter Mullen

Monty: Brian Blessed or Richard Griffiths
Saffron:
Badger: Sean Pertwee or Tim Roth or Keith Allen
Early:
Niska: Christopher Lee
Crow: Pat Roach

Can't think of anyone suitable for Saffron or Early.
