Earth That Was

We all know that all the resources in Earth that Was were all used up so they had to leave and find new planets. But are there any people left on Earth or did everyone leave or die out?

EDIT: Ok, i just saw this exact same thing posted in another forum. Sorry...so never mind.

In both the series (HoG) and the BDM (right off), the Earth that was, was shown to explode or be otherwise uninhabitable.

Okay, when you have seen the movie as many times as I have you notice things. Things that at first you thought were one thing and they turn out to be something completely diffrent. In the very beginning of the BDM, it is NOT Earth exploding but the blasts from the ships rockets leaving earth. Watch it again and pay very close attention to where the ships leave. It's their rocket blast not bombs.

It is not shown to explode. There are little explosions but they are not the Earth exploding. It is the blasts from the rockets leaving the ground.

That is all I meant.
