The 23-day reduction of sentence was a bribe to extort her to drop her successful appeal. The police state can't have the slaves gettin uppity by winning in traffic court.
99% of DUI convicts in LA County jail only serve a couple of days, before early release for "overcrowding" (by illegal aliens). Paris would have served less than 45 days, no matter what.

Paris Hilton may spend far less than 45 days in county jail for violating probation because of state policies and jail overcrowding, authorities said Thursday.
Hilton, sentenced last week to do the time, could spend three weeks or less behind bars because of a state requirement that grants inmates time off for good behavior and because of overcrowding in the system, Los Angeles County sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said.
"It's possible that it could be 21 days, 23 days. It's a complicated formula that the state sets down. It's possible that she could do less time," Whitmore told The Associated Press.
As for overcrowding, "our jail is bursting at the seams" and some women inmates have been released after serving only 10 percent of their sentence, Whitmore said.
Last year, "Lost" actress Michelle Rodriguez was sentenced to 60 days in jail for violating probation after her drunken driving arrest in Hawaii. She was released in hours because of overcrowding.

Paris continuously "volunteered" to waiver her Constitutional rights, over and over and over again, and that's the only reason she's going to jail. If she had the guts and brains to demand her constitutional rights, she would never have been arrested, and certainly would never have been "convicted". Remember, she was never convicted in a trial, nor by a jury trial. She "confessed" by testifying against herself that she drank ONE drink at dinner (ie "confession to drinking a case of beer,wine/liquor"), she volunteered for a "field sobriety test" which has no "passing score" and has no rules whatsoever, and volunteered for the "breath alcohol test" which has no passing score and does not test for alcohol and is not given until AFTER arrest for DUI. SUCKER!
