I've always loved the ship and for a long time wanted to piece together an all-Serenity video set to Christopher Young's overtly emotional theme from "The Shipping News." But when I finally began, the video quickly became as much about her pilot as it was about the ship. If you don't hear your favorite Wash-ism whizz by, it wasn't for lack of trying.

I made this as a birthday gift for my daughter and packaged it on a DVD with a selection of terrific flan-videos, including the following. "Her Pilot" isn't nearly up to the level of these, but I can pretty much guarantee the power of Christopher Young's music: it's worth listening to.

- A Tiny Grief Song (Tzegha)
- Feels Just Like (Falling for the First Time) (gammaknight?)
- Mal's Song (Jeremy Neish)
- Teeth in the Grass (Lierdumoa)
- Adiemus (Lithium Doll)
- Can't Take It (Ballad of Mal & Inara) (Jaron95)
- Behind Blue Eyes (Stephanie Shaw/Stained Ink)
- Who Are You? (Succatash)
- Call Me (Christopher Brown/ImEarly)
- Fly Away From Here (Corn_child)
- Magic (Amy C/Schmacky)
- Time (Mosylu)
- Must Be Dreaming (Corn_child)

The selection was limited by what would fit onto a 1-hour, single-layer DVD, so I didn't have room for my whole list of favorites. Ultimately I based my final selection on a thematic spread, musical preferences, video file resolution/quality, and fit length.

BUT I AM INTERESTED: What are the five great Firefly flanvids that I was backbirth-wrong to omit from my selection? (And where would I find them? :0)

When I was putting together the DVD, I was surprised to find that "Her Pilot" ends on the same quote as "A Tiny Grief Song." I don't know if I just forgot about that, but that beat was an early part of the concept, once I figured out that the video was sliding Wash-ward. I guess my point was that it's a gift to have had something that you really miss when it's gone.

Almost forgot: got my Official Companion, Vol. 2 from Amazon today. Sweeeet. The obsession continues.

What a lovely gift! That vid is powerful and on my list of new faves!

You included my favorite vid, Tzegha's A Tiny Grief Song, so I'd have nothing to add to your list.

Tzegha's vids are just amazing, they are required "software" on my comp. LOL

I wanted to just add that I received my Firefly Companion Vol. 2 in the mail yesterday and I was literally captivated! Beautiful, simply magic!

Lovely vid, I left a comment for you on the tube. : )

I agree, I think Tzegha is one of the best ff vidders out there. She knows I’m a fan. “A tiny grief song” is a perfect choice! My other personal fave of hers is “Night Flight”. Also love “Adiemus” and “Behind Blue” eyes from your list.

There were a few I haven’t seen before. “Must Be Dreaming“ by Corn_child, just wow! The editing was amazing.

Here are my top 5: (Ensemble)
*Unfortunately I can’t find the DL links for these.

1. “All These Things I've Done” by Lilrosiecheeks

2. “Butterflies and Hurricanes” by showmelonely (?)

Are those vids you listed on Youtube? If not where can I find them. I really want to check them out.

I am especially interested in the Behind Blue Eyes one. As you can see by my sig I really love that song as a theme for the Captain and even made my own vid of it. So yeah, I want to see it.

As to your vid, that was absolutely lovely. In a lot of vids with voice overs, the VOs sound out of place bit these were clear and smooth and they fit.

Op: You're fighting a war you've already lost.
Mal: Yeah, well I'm known for that.

No problem! It’s nice to find someone who enjoys the vids as much as I do. I don’t think the vidders get as much praise as they deserve.

Let me know which ones are your favorites when you get the time. : )

I'm not sure about which vids on my list are at YouTube--I think I got them a good while ago, mostly from other sources. Miracle of miracles, I kept bookmarks for many of them:

- A Tiny Grief Song (Tzegha)

- Feels Just Like (Falling for the First Time) (gammaknight?)
(My favorite feel-good Firefly video)

- Mal's Song (Jeremy Neish)

- Teeth in the Grass (Lierdumoa)
- (Almost sure this IS on YouTube, tho' heck if I can find it.)

- Adiemus (Lithium Doll)

- Can't Take It (Ballad of Mal & Inara) (Jaron95)
-

- Behind Blue Eyes (Stephanie Shaw/Stained Ink)
- (Wouldn't you know: got nothing on this one.)

- Who Are You? (Succatash)

- Call Me (Christopher Brown/ImEarly)

- Fly Away From Here & Must Be Dreaming(Corn_child)

- Magic (Amy C/Schmacky)

- Time (Mosylu)

Don't know if the vidlinks are active, but the pages seem to be there.
