Out of Gas blooper

Um... about the hay in Jayne's hat...
The hat is first covered with shipping 'hay' from the box his Ma used as filler. The second time we see Jayne's hat covered with shipping 'hay' is when he is breaking down the crate, also filled with shipping 'hay'. If you notice, he is tearing the wood to tiny pieces and they shipping 'hay' is all about him.
I know this to be true because I have watched this episode many, many times. Of course, I could be wrong.

Shortly after Zoe says 'they weren't after the goods,' look for a long shot of all three of them walking through the desert. To the left of the screen, there's a highway visible in the distance - one car going left, another going right.

If you listen to the commentary for 'The Message', Alan Tudyk points out the exact scenes where it doesn't make sense that the hay disappears and then re-appears while Jayne's in the infirmary...

I saw that as well, but I figured it was not the true mule locomotion but instead an extra bit help to steady the mule and stop it at an exact spot, so that it was properly framed for the camera shot.
Interestingly, it only is visible in the bottom right hand corner when playing the DVD on my PowerBook. if I play the DVD on my TV, then that blooper in the corner is not visible (probably my cheap TV screen).

One that noone seems to have spotted:
In The Train Job there is a muslim lady in a burkha on the train. In the scene where everyone has to get off, you can see the veiled woman now carrying a baby in the background while Zoe and Mal are in the foreground.
Watch her, a jeep passes by her quite slowly and she doesn't notice and walks right into it, baby's head first !

I totally missed the lady walking into the jeep. I will have to try to catch that next time I watch Train Job.

One detail I've appreciated is how the tear in the left arm of Mal's coat is mended. (We see it get torn when he gets grazed during the shootout with Patience in Serenity)
There are, however, two instances where the mend is there when it shouldn't be: the flashback scene in Out of Gas, and the scene in Serenity where Mal and Zoe discuss shooting the passengers "politely" if they get too nosy (a scene which Joss describes as a "reshoot" in the commentary).

If you play a dvd on your pc or laptop the player will display the whole digital picture on your screen. When playing a dvd on your television the edges will get cut off by the edge of your screen because the video picture on a TV is overscanned.
For an example... if you take a 640x480 pixel picture and display it in NTSC video format on a television... 5% of the outer edge of the picture will extend past the edge of the visible TV screen. Take the same 640x480 picture and display it on a computer screen and you'll see the whole thing. Computer screens are underscan. TV is overscan. There are parts of the NTSC video signal that are visible at the top that would be distracting so TV manufacturers frame in the picture tube screen to hide that part of the picture. This has been going on for many decades.
But now with the advent of digital projection, LCD, Plasma, and DLP televisions they can digitally cut off that top edge and present just the intended visible picture.

Here's the biggest blooper of them all -- in OoG, where Mal makes his way to the infirmary and shoots himself in the heart with adrenaline -- in real life, this would have put him very quickly first into cardiac fibrillation and then into cardiac arrest and the show would have ended right there! "You're dead, Mal..."
Yeah, yeah, I know, it isn't ER, but Joss really screwed up on this one, especially since he had Gina shot up beforehand specifically to set up for Mal doing that to himself.
Kids, don't try this at home...
