Will Firefly Ever Return?

Maybe it won't. Maybe it will. Canceled TV shows don't get made into feature length films that either.
We may as well keep trying though. What have we got to lose? What are they going to do? Cancel Christmas?

Yes. I just have this feeling it will. Wont be next Tuesday, but it will return in some form or other. What we need is a RICH browncoat who is willing to invest a ton of cash into a series, and quite possibly lose the investment.

What you're seeing here isn't laziness. Speaking just for myself, there's a rather sizable population of Browncoats out there who would look at you like you were out of your mind if you tried to call me a lazy Browncoat.
But, moving on, if you want to "get people to see the show" or "loan them your DVDs" or "donate a box set to your local library" or "Show it to family and friends" by all means do.
But do it because you believe the series and the movie are something you feel these other people should have the benefit of experiencing. Don't do it simply because You Want More.
Doing any of these things because you think it's a campaign that will result in more is simply setting yourself for the bitter fall. Doing any of these things simply because you want to bring the experience of what we already got to new people is inherently satisfying on its own.
I know I get yelled at a lot for supposedly squelching people's enthusiasm. But, in the end, the real world is a place where the decisions about Getting More are almost entirely outside of our control.
If any of these things people want to do did somehow, in the end, have an impact on Getting More, well then joy. But to do them because you think they WILL have that result?
It really is just a little bit delusional. And there's a difference between "believing unreasonably" and simple delusion.

We've been down a similar (although not the same) road before. And the business reality is that the business doesn't work this way.

Look how long it took to get Doctor Who back on the small screen - secret may be to open the gates for 'verse based fiction to keep the fanbase alive and kicking - that and a bloody minded refusal to accept that it's over .... :)

Hello, How does the business work? Are you talking about all businesses or just the TV business? Please explain to me how "it" works. I have no experience with this sort of thing.
If a wealthy Browncoat came forward to Joss and said heres 50 million, I'll support the creation of the show for the next 2 seasons, would the show get made?

I think it stands for "Masive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game". It's like the "World Of Warcraft" series that has about 8-10 million people playing it online (never bothered myself, heard it was very addictive and I'd lose all my real friends, job etc if I had a go). If the Verse was to get around half of that imagine the possibilities...........
