Hey all- I'm in the process of making my Jayne Cobb costume and I need some pics of his MP5 and Sling. There are some great pics on this forum, but I need something more detailed...please help.

I Took some screencaps of the gun in Serenity. Hope this helps you. It looks like they modified the hell out of it.

Hey. Going from the great pictures above, I'd have to say that Jayne's gun looks more like an m3 sub machine gun with a sight added to the barrel. If it is, there's http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M3_submachine_gun for some pictures.

The gun is built on HK MP5k. The foregrip is removed to expose the barrel, the rear sling ring is replace with a larger rectangular one that is made to fit over the bandoleer buckle.

The magazine is replaced with a straight magazine like HK used in the early 1980's or 1970s, probably a 20 round one. CDNN Investments is selling some surplus 30 round ones for about $30 that can be cut down to the right size.

I haven't heard anyone say definitely what the sight is over the barrel is, but 'Birdie' on here has the best replica I have seen of it and the gun as a whole.

I've have pics I saved on my home PC of when the original props went up for sale. I'll see if I can post them tomorrow.
