I've been wondering if we were putting up the big numbers the same time as Xena because some of the Xena fans were voting for us too. It just seems strange. We were number 3 at the time and they probably saw Bonanza as the threat and so didn't mind voting for us....

didn't you see I what I wrote? the Xena fans are at the voting booths forcing people to vote Xena! Rosie odonnel gets into your booth naked and armed with a plastic fallus and doesn't let you out till you vote for Xena. I barely escaped; I let them smell my fingers and then threatened to insert a fist of feces.

There other coincident activity (besides the Xena "charge") to explain the "burst" to 2300. A plug for the TV_vote at http://whedonesque.com/
came about the same time; this isn't the first time we've seen a large turnout when it's been mentioned there. Unfortunately, it seems like we get a huge number of folks to vote once or twice, but they fade off after a few days. I also suspect we would "wear them out" if the vote got mentioned too often there, so I'm not sure bugging for plugs a lot would be a good idea.
