????
At the end of a very thoughtful post you seem to have lost your mind for a second....

Must be a computer malfunction or something. FF was far from Batman Begins great, but it was very entertaining and enjoyable.

No malfunction. Just didn't like the movie. Felt like a mishmash made by a comittee of soccer moms. Michael Chiklis was excellent as Grimm, and Johnny was pretty good (though I forget the actor's name). But Ion Gufford and Jessica Alba were miscast, and Doom was just wrong, top to bottom.

And the story was generic. And the director (coming off of freakin' Babershop) had almost zero visual panache - something I consider to be a prerequisite for a Superhero film.

You may have fouind it entertaining and enjoyable, and that's cool. But I found it heckneyed, corny and a waste of talent and material. At best, I was mildly entertained. Most of the time, I was groaning, and shifting in my seat.

Just didn't like it. The trailers for part 2 look like things may have improved.... but unless I just hear stellar word of mouth, I'm waiting for DVD.

I found the characters to be real and engaging, and that more than made up for the weak plot, IMHO.
Finally, a superhero movie that's just plain FUN, and not leaving me angry, or in a pool of tears!
Plus I can show it to my eight-year old, and that's more than I can say for almost EVERY other superhero movie out there.
Elektra gets skewered; Scott Summers gets vapourized; Doc Ock's wife gets shredded; sometimes just a 'nice movie' suffices.

once more with you Chris. I liked Fantastic Four ...though I had a brief heart attack there when I though you meant Firefly when you said FF...LOL
I am really looking forward to Silver Surfer ( though I will admit to knowing very little about either the Fantastic Four or the Silver Surfer...mostly what I saw in cartoons)

Fun and nice I have no problem with. But stupid tunes me out every time. Besides, it's hard for me to buy the "it's for kids" bit when they kept coming up with stupid contrivances to get Alba into her undies - the bridge scene being the most glaring. Not that I mind her in her undies, but it's pushing it, IMO to say "it's a kid's movie... with T&A".

Tread lightly here, Storymark...you are speaking ill of some of the most hallowed and beloved moments in cinematic history!

No matter what my age, I have always admired the feminine form, and I think that most here will agree with me. Besides, I'd rather have my son see Jessica Alba in panties than Jennifer Garner in blood.

Now I didn't say anyone needed to be covered in blood... don't go putting words in my mouth. I'm not saying it needed to be filled with hardcore violence. The tone was fine. But a better script would have been really nice. The one they had sucked, as did the directing.

And come on, what possible reason, other than T&A was there for her to stip on the bridge? The other guys got to the other side at the exact same time. If you want a cheesy titillation scene, fine, but have a decent reason for it to happen. It was stupid. No excuse.

No other reason, and many, including me, appreciated it (Whoah, I guess I AM somewhat of a perv...)

There's your excuse; a joke!
Hey, I'm just goofin' with ya Story. I know it wasn't great, but I loved it anyway.
