new boxset!!!

Just got my new firefly series boxset from bestbuy.com for $20. oh man, opened up disc one, and smelled the sweet unadulterated scent of new plastic. popping the dvd out for the first time, almost intoxicating, always for the first time. i've seen the whole series over 15x, but the first time is still special, knowing that no one has viewed this dvd yet. i'm sure netflix is going to wonder why i'm not ordering any more firefly dvds. heck, i may have to cancel it once i get the special edition serenity dvd. abit obsessed, but that's ok. not quitting my dayjob to protest fox, but feeling quite contented. the box feels different when its yours. abit of wine enhances the viewing. and yes, inara's shuttle seems more lush than normal.

I am pondering a new set myself. The box on my original set is getting tattered from pulling disks in and out so much. A frsh one would be nice. And I want to buy a set for a friend who did me a big favor recently.

after viewing mrs reynolds on my spanking new box dvd set, i realized something. as much as i hate to admit it, saffron is really hot.
also, has anyone noticed that her words regarding the bible don't show up in any bible i know of. and one more thing, is it possible that mal really knew that inara kissed him, but he just wanted to see her reaction and then tried to salvage their existing relationship by making an ignorant but rather innocent remark. cause if he said anything else, it might disturb the balance. and did i mention saffron is hot?

Saffron is attractive I guess, but she's a bad seed.
I liked the "Trash" episode when Saffron told Zoe to "get over it" and Zoe punched her pretty good. Cool scene.
Plus, I sure hope Mal knew that Inara really kissed him. There are so many scenes where Mal and Inara almost kiss...I wish that they would get together one day, but I love the tension between them when they don't.

I'm just rewatching Firefly for the umpteenth time, but the first time all the way through for a long time. I've been busy (and working my way through an Angel marathon in my TV time), but it's just such a great reminder of why we are all here - a return to the origins of enchainment so to speak. I just watched 'Out of Gas'. It has to be one of the finest pieces of media ever made. Every time I just curse the people who cancelled it - how could they be so narrow minded?
