What if the "Verse" is a system composed of 19 regular stars orbiting a quark star?

How did you arrive at the number 19? I've thought about the 'verse being possibly a binary or trinary system, but why 19 stars?

I would think the number of stars orbiting the quark is incidental. It could help explain the distribution of heat and light.

I myself was picturing a few red dwarfs orbiting a normal O or F class central star (our sun is a G class).

The core worlds would be orbiting the main star, whilst the outer worlds would be orbiting the red dwarfs. Think of our own Solar System inflated somewhat, with the planets Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune replaced with red dwarf stars. The main sours of bright illumination would be from the main star, the IR from the nearby red dwarfs providing heat.

Quark stars are hypothetical anyway, being slightly denser than neutron stars, only just on the edge of collapsing into a black hole.

There are over 70 "Earths". Even if the 'Verse was a binary or even a trinary system, that's a whole lot of Earths.

The teacher's map in the movie could also be just showing the "capital" world of each star orbiting the hypermass. There might be more than 19 stars (binaries or trinaries) too.

Quark stars are supposed to be a kind of neutron star, and a little safer to be around. It could also be made out of strange or dark matter as well.
