Did they mention anything in the original pilot about The Battle of Serenity Valley?

All I know is that it took place in the last years of the war (Which ended in 2611, correct me if I'm wrong) and that it spelled the Independent Worlds defeat.

Anything I'm missing?

You see I'm writing a fanfic about said battle so I figured I'd use whatever background has been given and revise it as they give more.

There are 2 or 3 script pages from "Serenity" (the pilot) posted at the official site, which give a little more background on the battle.

Those pages posted show, I believe, everything that was said in the actual episode about the battle. So you'll know all there is to know so far if you check those out. And be sure to let us know when you've finished your fic, I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd like to see it.

I'm stuck with 56k so it would take me too long to download, thanks for the offer though.

If there is any other description of the battle I wouldn't mind a short summary but I think someone said that the 3 pages on the site cover all of it.

How is it that so many people have already seen the real pilot episode?

You can download it from irc or file sharing programs like Kazaa.

Indeed. I think somebody must have grabbed it off a satellite. Unfortunately, they used an old tape that had been reused 100 times already.

On the date of the battle, if Train Job takes place in 2517 (I think that's the date given at the beginning of the ep) and the battle was six years earlier (per the pilot, which I have also seen ), doesn't that set the battle in 2511?

Just want your fanfic to be, uh, fanfact?
