Just thought I'd toss this out here, apparently the Brits are going to evaluate a system that ranks drugs based off of the actual damage they do, what a novel idea.

For people who don't want to read it, alcohol comes in 5th, tobacco comes in 9th and weed comes in 11th.

Very nice.

The article does say people should be treated as 'adults' when being given information about drug harm. I would add that ALL drugs except those prescribed for specific purposes should be off limits to those under 23 (ideally). Brains are still substantively wiring-up till then.

I was pleased when I read the article last week - I doubt that the commonsense method of evaluating harm will seep into the American "war on drugs" any time soon, but I hope our policy-makers might see this as a chance to revamp our own classifications/corresponding laws.

I'm not positive but I think that may be the first time I've ever seen common sense, American and drugs in the same sentence...

But I like the Brits. I’m a big supporter of Churchill’s Anglo-American alliance. And I suppose I can forgive them for Harry Potter, the first one wasn’t so bad.

Interestingly enough, you know what Britain reminds me of? 1940s America. I don’t know why. It’s not like I ever actually visited 1940s America to actually have a reference of comparison. It just has that feel about it.
