If you had the power to bring back any dead character from any of Joss's shows, who would you pick?

Fred because she not only was killed off by Joss, she lost her soul in the process therefore she deserves the right to be brought back. Fred being dead was not enough, he had to destroy her soul also.

Ms. Calendar. It has to be Ms. Calendar. I can still hardly bear watch the episode where Joss offed her.

I would have to pick Wash.
We had plenty of time with the other characters that Joss killed off, but Wash we did not know long.

I guess it's time to post my own opinion.
Which would be...Wesley.
Cordelia was by far the most devastating death to me of any show. Even more than Fred, Joyce, Tara, or Anya (though I loved them all). I really felt Cordy was the heart of ANGEL. I should've seen it coming but didn't really, and once it did it made me see how much I truly loved the character. I now accept that the character is done though.
I actually felt Anya had come full circle. I was sad, but I'm okay with her death.
At the time of "Not Fade Away", I was numb (after months of anger and rage) from both the news of the cancellation and also the 'newer' news that I'd learned in TV Guide that one of Angel's group would not survive. I suspected it would be Wes. But unfortunately, I was too numb to feel it at the time. It hit me more later, I think, when I found out it only happened because of the cancellation...one thing that never should've happened did so because of another thing that shouldn't've happened.
To resurrect him in some form would be, for me, a symbol of correcting the whole thing.
As for SERENITY, it's hard to say I'd want Wash back. Don't misunderstand, I loved him, but it's a different type of world than BUFFY and ANGEL. I can't think of a way to bring Wash back, considering the way he died, that would be believable. Book, on the other hand, had some type of connections with the government. I don't think it's entirely out of the realm of possibility that they'd have a way to bring him back to life, especially considering the things they did to River. Plus, I'd love to find out what those connections are!

Our universe is cool but Joss's verse is cooler.

Book. No doubt.
I'd say Book is the most interesting character Joss has ever created, and to see him go in such a fashion as he did (really, he wasn't anything but a plot-tool
) left an empty feeling.

Wash I think is a given.
One character, although he wasn't really a main one in Buffy but I loved watching him, was Jonathan. Would have loved to have seen more of him.

I've only watched Seasons 1-6 of Buffy and I haven't even finished Season 1 of Angel so I probably shouldn't have read this but oh well, too late.
From what I've seen Tara for sure. It's hard not to say Wash but the way Joss killed Tara was so cruel. He put Amber Benson in the credits for that one episode that she died so you thought she'd be around for a long time and then boom... gone. She and Willow had just gotten back together it wasn't fair! Plus Tara was just the coolest, and her death made Willow go crazy and I hate it when Willows upset.
Also someone who was a great character but short-lived was Doyle (assuming that he doesn't come back in Seasons 2-5 of Angel).
One thing I must say about Joss while we're on the subject is that he makes you really feel for the characters. Honestly, I didn't think I was physically capable of crying for more than an hour until I saw Becoming Part 2. I also love how he isn't afraid to kill the main character... several times.
Okay that was a much longer post then I intended...

Wash! No doubt, no hesitation. He's a great character & I think there are levels of him that Joss hadn't let us see yet. His marriage to Zoe (as mentioned above) was one of the best portrayed on television. And I miss the shirts.
