Well, not to get overly philosophical, but I think that people are most attracted to the qualities in others that they most lack themselves. An accent (from whichever perspective) is a major difference, and it lends an air of exotic-ness to something as simple as talking. And if she talks in exotic ways...whoa, buddy.
I hope I didn't offend, I know that "accent" is subjective.
