Or if you're like me and you like to cut drinking out of the equation altogether (it's not so much a choice as a necessity), there's even more time for loafing. Which is more exhausting than it looks. Honest.

Oh yeah. Thank you for reminding me.

Though it'll have to wait til later in the day. I've got class to be getting to. But around noon...you'll have your StellarCon recap.

I know it's a typo, but I like the idea. A convention all about A Streetcar Named Desire. Or a con all about these guys:

StellarCon 31 was a pretty fun weekend.

Friday afternoon/evening, everybody was gearing up for Saturday. So there were a lot of booths unoccupied. The Charlotte Browncoat booth, however, was definitely the best one of the entire con.

There's Danny Seavers and Cathy Wilcox, running the booth.

Friday night was the night of the "Browncoats United" panel, which was pretty fun. It had a good turnout, at least.

Then Saturday, we had all sorts of people come out. I manned the booth for a good hour or two, and had quite a few people come up to the table and chat about Firefly, Serenity, stuff in general.

I got to meet the writers of a soon-to-be-published comic book called GravyBoy. What they had at the con looked pretty cool, and I hope it'll do well.

Later that night, I got to sit in on a screening of Heart of an Empire, a documentary about the Fighting 501st (What? I was raised a Star Wars fan), which was actually really well done. I even got my picture with a couple of them.

Apparently there was a lot of partying going on Saturday night, as I understand is the case at most cons. I however, was at home, asleep.

Sunday morning, it was clear just how tired everybody was. Groggy panelists, sleepy teenagers, half-awake Klingons performing an initiation ceremony right next to the Browncoat booth.

All I can recall about Sunday was that there were robot battles going on for a good 3 hours. That was pretty fun to watch. (A 7 year-old won the tournament.)

I really didn't get to take many pictures.

But of course. I wasn't going to have the hat with me and NOT wear it. Besides... I like my (your) hat.

I'll say this again: Did the pom pom arrive okay? Did you get it sewn on? Did you hand out any cards?

How was the panel you were supposed to sit on?

Yes, the pom pom arrived unharmed, and I got it sewn on without much trouble. The hat's as good as new.

The panel was interesting. Before we got to the actual discussion, we had a powerpoint presentation for the uninitiated (Which didn't seem to do much for us, since nearly everyone who attended the panel was already a fan). But then we got to the discussion itself. Questions like "What makes Firefly so unique?" "What drew us all to it?" "Why do you think it failed to become a hit during it's first run?" A lot of the questions that we've all answered on the boards a hundred times.

But don't get me wrong, it was fun. Somehow, the discussion turned into whether or not teenagers these days just don't care about good storytelling. Which is a can of worms I'm not about to start debating here.
