Two questions about slaying vamps?

1). Can UV light burn vampires (UV light and flash grenades)?

2). Can an expert marksman permanently disable a vampire with a headshot? Spike broke his spine and was paralyzed. Also, the chip in his head, if not removed properly, would cause permanent brain damage.

Usually the rule given is direct sunlight. I doubt UV on it's own caries enough of the mystical sun-ness to do the trick.

And healed fairly rapidly. I suspect that any less than total wounds would be a short term inconvenience at best. Although damage to the brain could conceivably result in memory loss either partial or total the brain itself should regenerate back to full function.

Was that ever said by anybody who didn't have an interest in the chip remaining in Spike's brain though? It could have been a bit of a fib.
