There is no way in hell that the Firefly movie will begin with the original Firefly theme song.
I don't think we're going to hear the Sonny Rhodes version of the Firefly theme song in the movie. That is, until the credits roll. That's when we will hear it.
During the movie, I'm guessing we'll be teased with instrumental tributes to the theme, but no more.
As soon as the movie ends, the original theme song will start, and the credits will roll. A powerful moment indeed. A push towards the resurrection of the TV series.
Just a guess.

Thanks, 'Tash... Now I gotta go get a Kleenex... Just thinking about that kind of a moment makes me cry...

I think that it makes sense.

Oh, I meant because it would be such a moving experience... Not because it's even remotely a bad idea...

I kind of expect that we'll hear it before the credits. Joss said that he always envisioned it as something being sung by an old man on a porch, and it wouldn't suprise me at all to see him take this oppertunity to do just that somewhere in the background.

Ahh! Excellent thought. That would be a great way to do it. Maybe even in a flashback scene, an old man sings it to young Mal, or a young Book. Fun to think about.

Quote:What about the original Sonny Rhodes studio version? An old man on the porch during the movie is great. It makes it even more likely that we'll hear the original studio version when the credits roll.

Why not just put Sonny Rhodes on a porch?

So, you think that we'll hear a version of the song, but not the original, Fox-owned version? Even during final credits?

In "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?" they performed "A Man of Constant Sorrow" at least four different ways.
I'd like to hear the original Firefly theme song when the movie credits roll, because it guides the story back to television land.
