I enjoyed Firefly, and Serenity of course.
But I do think it's slightly odd that everytime there is a tiny reference or mention, fans jump on it like crazy. It's a little weird.

Maybe that's why my boyfriend doesn't 'get' Serenity. He doesn't have any pop culture references dating after about 1975 (1985, on a good day). There's a lot of stuff he doesn't get!

Saw it mentioned recently in an article about Battlestar Galactica. The gist was 'and the only decent sci-fly in the last 10 yeas (Firefly) got canceled after half a season, so be glad there's something here now.'
And in spite of being the hardened, cynical gentleman I am, I was tempted to squee a little.
Actually I think I must be getting Jessified, almost had a wee tear in my eye after reading a long e-mail from a friend the other day, all she said was that life is fucking incredible
