Found this in her most recent myspace blog.

I'm sure a lot of people would have already seen this, but I'll post it anyway.

"Joss once said he would love us all to age a little bit before we made a Serenity 2, if we ever did."

I found this very interesting.

For one... Joss was planning a sequel set how many years after Serenity?? This brings up some interesting thoughts on the potential story lines.

Also...it keeps my hope alive.

A serenity sequel could very well be one of those things that is ALWAYS a possibility. This can be both a good and bad thing.

Good because it keeps us going.

Bad because we hold onto our false hope.

This is the first bit of semi-positive sequel news I have found in weeks.

I'm sure any subsequent movie will be all the better for it as our cast improve their acting skills through more experience in life.

Interesting news. Good find Bringitback. Thanks for posting it.

Wonder how much Joss wanted the cast to age. Not too much I would hope. I don't want a great big gap between Serenity and the BDS which only leaves us wondering what happened in between.

If anything... a wait of 3-4 years in-between movies gives Joss a chance to build up the sequel through comics, novels etc..

Look how many fans stream onto this place and others like it day after day... They don't want to leave it to too late, and it will only work with the original characters.. but none the less, if the actors and Joss can build their reps and their appeal in the next 1-2 years Serenity2 is a damn good shot.
