It'll take place between Terminator's 2 and 3, between 91 and 03. There's very little known about that period, other than Sarah getting cancer and dying on a beach in Mexico. So yeah, this could open up for a good show in expanding the mythology of the Terminator verse.

As per Summer, I'd like to see her as the bad Terminator. She's done the good guy role, let her be a true badass. It'll give us a glimpse as to what the Alliance wanted River to be.

According to the press release its between T2 and T3. I agree though, we already know John lives AND we know (approximately) when Sarah dies. Still, I am glad to see Summer working. Even if its for (burp) Rupert Murdock.

I think they should make the female Terminator the good one this time around, otherwise I'm going to start suspecting that they think only male Terminators have the ability to be good. Plus, the possibilities between John Connor and Summer's character could be interesting.

I don't understand this show. The title character is going to fail ... pitifully. Skynet will go online. Much of the human race will be killed off in a nuclear apocalypse. How much fun can a show be if your main character fails at her only goal and then dies of leukemia?

I once thought it would be interesting to have a show about the Enterprise C before it appeared in The Next Generation and it was pointed out to me, repeatedly, that no one wants to watch a show where you know everyone dies at the end. (For those of you who don't know Star Trek, that Enterprise was basically a sacrifice. It and everyone on it had to die for things to work out as they should.) Those who pointed that out were right, people generally don't like that kind of thing.

So how can a show whose plot is, "The main character, Sarah, is going to try and fail to do something, then she is going to die of a hematological malignancy," survive?

I look forward to some gruesome hook kicks. It's going to be weird to see my lovely little River go all evil-like. I didn't read any articles, so I don't know if she's good or bad. I'm a bit dreary.
