"The Sarah Connor Chronicles", some upcoming Terminator TV show, I think.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I definitely think Summer Glau is beautiful. I can't wait to see her kickin' butt again this time on a new TV show. We will have to keep an eye out and see when that new show comes out.

Apparently she was also working on a show called Mammoth - does anyone know what it is about and what charactor she plays?

It was a TV movie about an alien substance resurrecting a mammoth in a museum. It's intentionally cheesy (obviously), and it ain't half bad, and quite funny at times. Summer is excellent, of course.
She plays a scientist's daughter.

IBTC??
A well-known, if informal, national high school sorority.
The 'I' stands for 'Itty'. The 'B' stands for 'Bitty'. The 'C' stands for 'Committee'...
And the 'T' rhymes. I reckon Morena, despite some wonderful applications of the costumers' arts, is probably alum, too... Not certain about Gina... YoSaffBridge (Christina Hendricks), on the other hand, was definitely never a member.
Uh Zoid...while I have to agree that Christina Hendricks is probably the most well-endowed of the major/recurring female actresses from Firefly, I certainly would not assign IBTC membership to Morena simply because Shawna Trpcic and her legion of costumers enhanced what the Good Lord gave her somewhat! And I certainly wouldn’t start tossing Gina’s name on to any membership list….no way do I want Morpheus to come kick my ass for slanging his Amazonian hottie of a wife
That and did you miss the photo of Summer in a bikini near the top of the page?!? 'Less you classify anyone with a size C bra cup or smaller as an automatic member of the IBTC, I wouldn't be tossing such a distinction on any of the Whedonverse ladies, thank you. Well...maybe Alyson Hannigan, but she rocks what she got

Oh...and as the eldest child of someone who had to have a double mastectomy, I probably should do my duty and say the following (though it's admittedly hypocritical of me):
You all make me sick! Obsessing over a woman's bra cup size when they're people like my mom, who had to have both surgically removed to save her life? Not really impressive

Ol' BlueEyes (Brigadier):
Dude, take a deep cleansing breath and the knot out of yer shorts. I was teasing our girls in specific, and not your Mom even in passing.
While I do prefer larger breasts (and all the rest that implies) (ladies, you know what I mean), I've also got an intimate working knowledge of just about every female body style you'd care to imagine. I can say this without fear of contradiction: They're all wonderful.
A woman is beautiful -- or not -- and it's got very little to do with her physical body. All the girls of Firefly are beautiful in this particular way, even though (or especially because) they are different from stereotypical female characters on TV. They are not, as my wife puts it, just 'tits and lip gloss' trotted across the stage to attract prurient male interest.
...Okay, so Inara's got the lip gloss, but the rest of them are definitely not 'T & LG'.
(NB: That was a joke, not a slam on those who've undergone a mastectomy.)
So, to sum up succinctly: Yes, I'm a fan of well-endowed women, to include curvaceous hips and as much tummy as it takes to get aforementioned breasts; I acknowledge that others may prefer slender (as a board) women, and welcome them to it (more buxom women left over for me); women who are either smallish by nature or by circumstance are not less womanly or less desirable; a woman is desirable based on an intangible mix of internal and external characteristics (there is no secret recipe for success, so just be yourself).
Respectfully,
zoid
P.S.
I have to point out that both Morena and Gina wear Wonderbras on the show. Note that they push up from the sides in a distinctive way. No Sith Lord of the Breast would fail to point this out to a young apprentice... which anyone who thinks Summer is a C cup, clearly is... (Still teasing. Hello? Is this thing on?)

My shorts are knot-free, zoid...you have no worry from that. And I know you were teasing our ladies in good fun, and slanging women like my mother. I just felt that as the son of someone who had to lose what society seems to label a central part of how "feminine" a woman is determined to be, that her position be raised. Never know who might be hanging around these forums

Uh...great to hear that, zoid. I too am generally more preferable to a certain body type, but I am a connoisseur of all shapes and sizes of the feminine form

Preaching to the choir here, amigo
Definitely have to agree that the female BDHs - and YoSaffBridge too, in fact - are completely against the "T&LG" stereotype. I think Joss' head would explode if any female character even vaguely appeared to be nothing but mammary glands and lip cosmetics in any project he worked on

Amen and hallelujah, Brother zoid! You will preach on
In complete agreement with you there, zoid. Attraction - true attraction - is definitely all about the intangible mix of the external and the internal. It's just sad not everyone is as....enlightened as we are

zoid...I'm gonna go out on a limb and trust you (and everyone else who is read and will read this thread, natch) when admit I am not even an apprentice when it comes to this topic. I am pre-A New Hope/The Phantom Menace when it comes to recognizing and understanding my powers

BEB responded, in part:
Quote:
...and YoSaffBridge too, in fact...
The reason I'm particulary attracted -- in a 'first blush', physical-only sort of way -- to Christina, is that she is naturally voluptuous.
While I'm certain that Joss would never intentionally evoke a hormonal response from any of us male-types (*cough*), the costumers did put her in a distinctly translucent blouse and the lighting director did light her from the side and behind in such a way as to reveal her natural and un-bra-enhanced form. So, kudos to them...
In addition, in her dorsal nude scene in Mal's cabin ("I swell to think of you in me" *gulp!*), the attentive viewer can see that Ms. Hendricks carries a little extra subcutaneous fat at her hips. Right in my personal roundhouse, as the baseballers say.
Personality-wise, she may not be as attractive, or she may become irresistible.
It should be noted that I am also more attracted to dark hair and eyes. Therefore, I am predisposed to appreciate the facial qualities of Morena, Summer and Gina (in no particular order). The most attractive actress on the planet, in accordance with all my previously enumerated tenets, is Paz Vega (Flor, of "Spanglish", http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0891895), who is acutely under-discovered in the motion picture industry, IMHO...
Appreciatively,
zoid
P.S.
While I most closely relate to the character of River (hence, my avatar), I find Summer's taped appearances at various CONs reveal her as somewhat overly self-conscious and shy. She might be more self-assured and personable out of the limelight; but based on my brashly assertive personality, I couldn't see us lasting more than 5 minutes in conversation. And that's a damned shame. She strikes me as a perfectly lovely young woman; but, I'd avoid her like the plague, strictly in order to avoid crushing her apparently delicate psyche. Sooner or later, I wind up rubbing everyone the wrong way. In Summer's case, I suspect it'd be much sooner than later. I'd not inflict myself on her for much more than a brief greeting.
P.P.S.
Also, keep in mind that I'm happily married for 18 years this April 5th, and old enough to be everyone but Gina's father. I'm speaking strictly academically, here. BTW, my wife has brown-black hair, dark brown eyes, tends to blush deeply when aroused (in either the good or bad way), and is *ahem* prodigiously bosomed. By which I mean, I have been truly blessed by a generous God, who knows and loves me well, despite my flaws...

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you like to share things, zoid
And yes...you have been blessed by the good and fuzzy Lord so much that I quake in jealousy. Now does that seem right to you?
P.S. I would probably out-introvert our beloved Summer. It may seem amazing, but I am utterly silent and withdrawn in public settings unless I am with someone I know and trust. So I think we could chat...'less I was all drooly from being starstruck, I mean
