You and I have probably never met...as I have been away from this site for a long time, but a firend passed it along to me ( a fellow Browncoat) and I could not help but respond.
I am a USAF brat...nothing more. I was not called to serve my country...being a female, and old enough that they would not let me actually fight. Please know, though, that there are a GREAT many of us who love you...appreciate the calling you have had. Someone said it earlier...maybe many people..but you are BIG DAMN HEROES. EVERY Last one of you. Know that your country loves you...even though some don't agree with why you are there. We ALL wish you safety and peace. One day I hope to meet all of you, and shake your hand( or give you a big hug) and show my appreciation for all that you have done, and will do, when your country called.
Browncoat facts notwithstanding. You are the true heroes of our time. We all love you for the sacrifices you have made. All of us.
Tammy, child of the USAF, Browncoat until the end of time.

Now that it's official, all the more reason to keep this thread alive.
It's now time for an official-like BUMP!

Well, folks. . .my leave has ended and I had a wonderful time. I'm currently at the passenger terminal at Rein Main AirBase in Frankfurt, Germany.
To my DEEP chagrin (sarcasm) I find I will be 'stuck' here for about three days. Hrmmmm. . .an extra three days in Germany? I think I'll have my betrothed fly out here RIGHT NOW and spend it with me.
I love you guys, and thank you SO MUCH for keeping this post on or near the top.
And both me and my betrothed are thrilled beyond words about the 'official-ness' of the movie.
Looks like we did it, huh?

Enjoy your being "stuck" in Germany days.
Beautiful country!
Thanks for the stories.
I've been forwarding them to my 'anti-board FF fans' friends, and they too are enjoying them greatly.
Good luck and come back safely!

I'm just so glad that the Official Damn News came before you shipped back out to Afghanistan, so you can carry it with you to a certain bunch of helicopter jockeys, special forces guys, and such like, who may be at least a small bit pleased with the news.
Godspeed and safe return,
Z.
